A 23-year-old Arizona man was arrested on 29 October after police alleged he arranged an online plot for another man to sexually assault his fiancée at her home in Buckeye.

Investigators say electronic evidence linked Zarian Dyer to Adrian Ayala, 20, who allegedly attacked the woman while her two children were present on 16 October.

The case took a different direction after the man accused of carrying out the attack reportedly told investigators that he had communicated online with the woman's fiancé.

Police say subsequent examinations of electronic devices uncovered evidence of communications between the two men concerning the alleged plan.

Buckeye Assault Investigation Uncovers Alleged Online Agreement

The incident occurred at around 6 pm on 16 October near Southern Avenue and Miller Road in Buckeye, a city west of Phoenix, Arizona.

The woman reported that an unfamiliar man entered her home and attacked her. She fought back, and the suspect left before officers arrived, according to the police account.

Police arrested Ayala at his Goodyear home on 17 October. He allegedly told investigators that he had met the woman's fiancé, Dyer, online and agreed to the assault.

Detectives later examined electronic devices linked to both men and said they found communications concerning the alleged plan, prompting Dyer's arrest.

However, the contents of those communications must be distinguished from the conclusions a court may ultimately reach. The available public reporting does not establish the full context of every exchange or independently settle the criminal allegations against either man.

Digital Evidence Leads to the Fiancé's Arrest

Detectives arrested Dyer at his workplace near Roosevelt Street and Verrado Way on the morning of 29 October, nearly two weeks after the alleged attack.

Dyer faces charges including aggravated assault, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, kidnapping and conspiracy.

Prosecutors reportedly alleged that he wanted Ayala to contact him via FaceTime during the encounter, while Ayala's lawyer characterised it as a role-play scenario.

These competing accounts remain allegations, not established findings of guilt.

The woman reportedly rejected that explanation, saying she had never seen Ayala before. Her response is an important part of the dispute, although the competing accounts do not by themselves determine the legal outcome.

Neither the reported defence position nor the prosecution's allegations should be presented as a final finding.

The question of what happened, what the defendants intended and whether the alleged conduct meets the legal definitions of the charges remains for the criminal process to determine.

Questions Remain Over the Alleged Buckeye Plot

Police have said the motive behind the alleged arrangement remains unknown.

The publicly reported evidence does not establish why the attack was allegedly planned or provide a complete account of the communications between the two men.

Investigators are still examining the online communications and the alleged roles of both men.

Court reporting put Dyer's bond at $500,000 (£373,027) in cash, although his current status should be verified against court records.

The arrests have shifted the investigation from a reported home intrusion to an alleged plot involving the victim's fiancé. The charges remain unresolved, and the attack occurred while the woman's two children were at home.

The investigation now concerns not only the reported attack itself, but also police allegations about communications that preceded it and the extent to which those exchanges can establish the involvement of each suspect.
